Thursday evenings are always entertaining. JB demonstrates
how to properly dismount over the handlebars.
Last weekend marked the end of Daylight Savings Time. DST is a convention that I find totally useless. What exactly is the point? All DST does for me is give one less hour of daylight in the evening which is when I could use it the most. In the sunlit morning hours I work. For some reason I'm the most productive in the morning hours, could it be the coffee? I don't need sunlight to sit in front of a computer screen, besides, in the evening I enjoy getting out of my office and darkness doesn't aid in that enjoyment.
Now that DST is behind us, mountain bike season kicks up a notch. Thursday evenings have played host many a good trail ride in and around Philly. Generally I congregate with a group of riders at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park to get a couple hours of fast riding in. The riding concludes with some foamy refreshments, bike banter and ball busting. always an entertaining end to good trail ride. I'm looking forward to today's first post DST Thursday evening ride.
Today in the less fortunate frozen northern states, College Hockey fans are gearing up for the Frozen Four hosted in Milwaukee this year. Boston College vs. North Dakota & Wisconsin vs. my alma matter, University of Maine. People love the Black Bears in Maine, and why shouldn't they? A U. Maine hockey game is the hottest ticket in town. it was damn near impossible to get a ticket even when I was a university student. I'm hoping Maine can pull off their first NCAA championship since 1999. It's gonna be a tough game for Maine, as Milwaukee is in the heart of Badger country. go Black Bears!
